Center for Archaeology, Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies in Turkey
The Center aims to develop and facilitate research projects that are dedicated to the history, art, architecture and archaeology of civilizations in Turkey. The Center aims to take a leading role in investigating and preserving Turkey’s cultural heritage by supporting the work of outstanding senior scholars and promising junior scholars and by bringing together persons working in a range of disciplines dealing with the cultural heritage of Turkey.
As a center with scholarly standing, the RCAC aims to contribute to promoting and disseminating knowledge in and about Turkey. Exhibitions developed and organized by the RCAC are conducted through interdisciplinary, interinstitutional and international cooperation with the aim of promoting knowledge of historical, art historical, and archaeological topics. The RCAC and its gallery are situated in a historical building on İstiklal Street, in the very center of the city where the institution is able to reach a wider audience. RCAC’s exhibitions are admission free, aiming to increase public engagement and enhace contemporary Turkey’s understanding of its society and culture through the examination of historical and archaeological data.
