Construction on the Health Sciences Campus started in 2011 and by end 2012, most of the structural work had been completed. The first phase of the project will be started by September 2014. This phase includes a hospital with 251 hospital beds, several imaging centers, operating rooms, intervention areas, intensive care units, and separate emergency services for adults and children. there are 10 operating rooms in the first phase but this number will eventually increase to fourteen. There will also be a very sophisticated radiotherapy center next to all the intensive care and intervention services.

Koç University Hospital is not a private hospital, but a fully fledged research hospital connected to Koç University’s Medical School. All patients, whether on social security or with private health insurance, will be able to receive treatment here.

The hospital will include various trauma centers and will offer the entire range of medical speciality services, with particular focus on oncology, cancer, genetics and infectious diseases. Later phase of the Project is planned to include the first dedicated children’s hospital in one of the major cities of Turkey.
